The Sandy Puc’ Guide to Children’s Portrait Photography

I ordered this book to see what all the buzz was about and I am left scratching my head. The images are nice, but nothing very new or inspiring here, just a lot of VERY traditional, old school (mostly) studio photography. This book would be good for a beginner interested in basic studio photography. The author runs a huge high volume operation, shooting 7-10 sessions a day. Not a lot of time for creativity with that type of schedule!

When I first met Sandy several years ago, I told her she would become the one person other photographers would want to learn from. Based on the amazing success of her recent Bellies and Babies tour, which I have attended, I seem to be a prophet. Sandy is not afraid to tell everything she knows about photographing children in this book – she knows that those with her energy to create children’s portraits that touch the heart deserve to receive every bit of information available.
