I paid $30.00 for this useless book. I could have had a nice steak. I expected simple diagrams and how to’s about setting up a home studio……wrong.

Light has long been a crtitical part of photography. Critical, because at the heart of the matter the camera is only a device to capture and record the light being bounced off of the subject.
With film cameras there was little choice in the matter, the effects of the light were determined by the film. It is much the same with the less expensive digital cameras. But with the better cameras, the camera itself has several controls that will you to sense and adapt to the light in different ways.
This does not mean that the impact of the light has been reduced. It is simply different. This book, as you might guess from the title, is about how light affects the digital image being produced. The book basically covers four lighting subjects: natural light, artificial light, in camera processing and external (photoshop) processing.
As you would expect from a Lark book, even the most minor point is well illustrated, after all, the entire focus of the book is to be able to produce higher quality photographs.

This is a very good book on Lighting for photography. In some places it gets a little technical, but some people may want all that information. I just want to know the best ways to light situations, from what angles, etc.thanks.

Very thorough book for anyone who wants to learn more about working with light in their photography. This book is geared for both the beginner and advanced photographer. The content I found in the book blows away all other books I have looked at regarding lighting.
