Wow I was really glad to stumble onto this book. Informative and fun to browse--I like the textbook style.
Great to read so many different approaches.

I have always been intrigued by night photography and have been trying it out on my own for a few years. This book has lots of gorgeous pictures and good tips on how to get the same effects yourself. My main gripe is that many of those good tips are printed in very small type, in white, on a black background. The black background looks slick, but it's very hard to read for those of us with senior vision.

It's a good book, though, and if you are interested in night photography, it's worth the money.

This books is pretty bad. It features ideas about low light photography by a bunch of photographers. So far so good. However, a lot of the discussion is about traditional film. Most of it is in one chapter, but also scattered around. This is just ridiculous and shows that many of the contributors just rehashed some of their old material. Another problem is the poor and messy editing and layout of the book. What idiot decided to go for white text in fontsize 8 and 1.5 line spacing on black pages on many pages? If you get this book despite everything negative, you will off course get some ideas from the photographs presented in the book, but that's all.

I've bought my first DSLR and also bought 15 photography books on amazon. I'm evaluating the books from the perspective of a somewhat knowledgeable amateur.
